The Cottages
While the outside is traditional, the interior makes use of modern materials and both comfortable and attractive. The stonework was restored by a mason specialising in conservation work.
Our architect, AD Simpson said on completion, that it was the best finished project he had seen - ever!
Much of the building work was managed and carried out by local civil engineer Derek Hulme.
The downstairs interior was designed by local interior designers David and Kate Howell
The bespoke cabinet was built from sustainably grown sycamore and maple by Steve McLean of Dovetail Scotland
To further enhance the interior, sculptures and photographs by local artists are displayed (and are for sale).
The cottage is fully centrally heated by an oil combi boiler. The temperature is thermostatically controlled so residents can set the temperature they find comfortable.
See Cottage Details for more information about the facilities.
